Dormitory Admission:
At the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, dormitory placement is requested through NEPTUN TR. The dormitory admission process varies depending on the student’s status.
For older students, dormitory admission occurs during the spring semester. For accepted freshmen, the admission procedure happens at the end of July or the beginning of August.
The admission process employs a point system that considers the student’s academic performance or, in the case of freshmen, the total admission score, along with their social status. The uniform point system for dormitory admission can be found in the Student Allowances and Reimbursements Regulation No. 2 in the appendix.
Regarding the social situation assessment:
- If you submitted a social situation assessment application when applying for the dormitory and have a social score established by the University Student Welfare Committee, there’s no need to resubmit the application for the dormitory.
- If you didn’t submit a social situation assessment request during the dormitory application semester, you can submit one before the dormitory application, though it’s not mandatory. In this case, your social situation score will be 0.
- If there has been a significant change in your social situation since you submitted a social situation assessment request during the dormitory application semester, you can request a reassessment. However, this must be initiated via a written letter, providing reasons and sent to sozialis.godollo@uni-mate.hu.
The social situation assessment application is accessible in the NEPTUN TR Administration/Applications menu. Ensure that the documents attached to the application are appropriately named.
The detailed analysis system for the social situation assessment is outlined in the Student Benefits and Reimbursements Regulation No. 4 in its appendix.
Full-time doctoral students and students of Hungarian nationality or dual citizenship from across the border should also submit a dormitory application form to indicate their accommodation needs, and the system will automatically assign points based on the social situation.
Renting an Apartment:
In Gödöllő, there are only a few apartments available for rent, so it may seem that you can only find accommodation in Budapest.
If your courses are in Gödöllő, don’t worry; you can reach Gödöllő campus within 30 minutes by train from Budapest’s main railway station, Keleti Pályaudvar, to Gödöllő campus.
Here are some links where you can find accommodation in Budapest:
You can also join the Facebook groups of SZIU students and ask for help: “2020 SZIU Erasmus and International Students” or “International students at SZIU.”
